Climate Clever? Hardly!

You probably haven't even noticed the sneaky tactic of putting the onus on you and me to change our lifestyles all in the name of being "Climate Clever".

Think about it. We are constanty being made to feel guilty for not doing enough. You and I are expected to do the right thing and change to energy efficient light bulbs, drive less, save water etc etc etc but what about the real carbon polluters? How much are they being taxed? Nothing!

Changing light bulbs is like pissing in the wind with this issue. The Australian Government needs to divert some of the $9 billion in fossil fuel subsidies to research on renewables. The coal industry needs to be reined in. Clean coal is a misleading term, it doesn't exist yet.

We need to set meaningful CO2 reduction targets and legislate to make them happen. That would be Climate Clever.

It isn't too late yet. But pretty soon it might be. Finally we have a new Australian Government which is promising us the earth...be sure to keep them to their word.
